OUR STRATEGY.

Considering the limited capacity of the small Complete Tennessee team, we focused on a strategy that could yield significant results. It was a statewide effort that covered the needs of both geographically and culturally diverse communities. 

We began by conducting research into the current state of education in Tennessee and having conversations with all levels of leadership within the Complete Tennessee organization and with leadership at other organizations which had objectives that were similar in scale. These conversations led to a list of recommendations and best practices for organizing. We worked to create a shared language amongst the Complete Tennessee team to help them better communicate their goals, strategies, and values to partners and the community.

OUR RESULTS.

After Complete Tennessee’s planning meeting, in conjunction with Iconico, we developed a targeted strategy that provided a framework that prioritized counties for them to focus their work. We worked with them to map out what power structures existed in the state that would need to be partnered with, persuaded, or toppled. Iconico supported the work around the strategy by developing several tools to help track progress, create accountability through reporting amongst departments, and assisted in targeting.
